Filled with spoofed propaganda posters, the red walls of Sweet Ecstasy is reminiscent of American modernism, when the popularity of burgers, sodas and milkshakes rose along with the birth of fast food diners. The restaurant is along Jupiter Street in Makati City, and the dining area is under a tent. If you’re craving for good burgers and you don’t mind sitting outdoors–and you shouldn’t because this trip is totally worth it–then you should definitely come visit!
Their burger menu might have been definitive, serving only the classic Hamburger (PHP 175), Cheeseburger (PHP 195) and The Double (PHP 265), but I guess that was all they needed to serve…because Sweet Ecstasy makes the juciest, tastiest burgers in town! They use brioche buns, 100% pure beef patties ground from prime cuts, and some special ecstasy sauce. The untainted version of their burgers are reason enough to keep coming back.
They also have buffalo wings and animal fries. We got the Burger Fries (PHP 215) because we wanted to get the whole burger experience, and we were obviously really hungry.
On top of that, they serve Adult Milk Shakes (PHP 185) which totally blew my mind! Milkshake + Liquor = Heaven. We only got to try Cookie Butter is the Bomb, and it was a good choice. It’s made of vanilla ice cream, cookie butter and vodka. All the ingredients were perfectly balanced to make the experience pleasant even for people who are averse to alcohol. This is a truly unique product.
