New Po-Hen is popular among the locals because of its fresh lumpia (spring roll). Although it’s called “fresh”, the only uncooked part is the wrapper. The stuffing is made with freshly-sourced vegetables, peanuts, shrimp, and pork – all finely chopped and cooked. A hit among Binondo habitues, this savory 15cm lumpia costs only P50. It comes in 3 different condiments: crushed peanuts with sugar, finely chopped raw garlic, and crispy rice noodles with seaweed. You can also have it with 2 kinds of sauce, sweet or spicy.
