mici evolved from the service-from-the-heart initiative of Fr. Gianluigi Colombo, an Italian priest in charge of overseeing the operations of the Don Bosco Printing Press. In 1994, in support of the school’s employees, he proposed to start a canteen in Don Bosco School to meet the need of the school’s employees for an access to good food during lunch breaks. He got permitted and the result was an Italian delicatessen canteen called Amici di Don Bosco (Friends of Don Bosco). The school cafeteria became a business entity that served the employees and the students of the school. It was later on expanded as a franchise restaurant in Manila in 2007.

Amici has quite flavorful food, especially when it comes to their pizzas and pastas. Some of my favorites include the Prosciutto e Funghi pizza and Linguine al Samonte Cremoso. Delicioso!!! :D However, I find their prices too high, especially when the servings aren't that big. All dishes are very beautifully plated/served, though.
