Had Sunday lunch here to meet-up with some new blogger friends. The Chef-owner was nice enough to let me reserve a table even if they don't really take reservations during weekends.

It's not everyday you can eat in a garden set-up in a mall. The rolling pins hanging from the ceiling together with plants was a nice touch. I can only imagine how cozy the ambiance is at night for more intimate dates. The staff were able to attend to our every need and was active in waiting for us.

We ordered a bunch of their specialties; squid-ink rice(395php), japanese beef curry souffle(525php), and pork bourguignon(425).

Most of my friends loved the souffle. The curry baked into a cheese souffle was delicious; soft and creamy, and filling. I personally liked the pork dish. Stewed in red wine, the meat was really tender. The squid ink was also tasty, but the viand in the dish was too little, only a couple of bites.

Overall, I would definitely go back again (to try the other specialties like matcha souffle) and I would recommend the place for a fun lunch with family or with friends.

Me and friends got together to try this new board game cafe near teachers village. Its on the 2nd floor of Security bank and the entrance is on the right side. I'm familiar with the place but they might want to put up some entrance signs for others.

While outside, first thing I noticed I thought it was dark inside but I guess it was just the glass windows because there was ample lighting inside. Being a board game cafe, lighting is important as some games have small cards to read.
Upon entering all the staff greeted us as well as some people who are not wearing staff uniform. I guessed correctly and found out they were the owners. They had a promo that day and recommended some games we could play to avail the promo.

As most board game cafe, a food or drink purchase is required to play the games. The food is a bit pricy if value for money. The fries at 150pesos was a small serving. The drinks however is alright. A beer shake, yes beer shake, is 120pesos.

The place can get noisy if there are a lot of people. This is another concern as you might have trouble strategizing your game if you can' hear each other. Maybe do something about the acoustics of the room.
At the end of the night, we completed the promo and got some flux capacitor cookies from the back to the future movies.

Lastly, the service and staff are great. The owners taught us some new games and were very friendly. This makes them my favorite board game cafe yet.

I would definitely come back here and recommend the place for a fun night with friends.

Oh and Yael, vocalist of the band Spongecola seems to frequent the place. So, you can probably catch him there if you're a fan.

Went to this place to have a meeting. I only got the Almond and peanut butter chewy cookies. It costs 80php for a serving of 4 pieces. As the name says it is quite chewy. Too bad it was the last few pieces, else I would have ordered a whole lot more.
The place is very thematic. They are actually a travel agency and cafe in one. So the place is packed with knickknacks of different countries. They also have photoframes showing some of their travel packages.

I would go back again and would recommend the place.

As Pedro and Coi is usually packed, we opted to try this Indian-Japanese restaurant on the same floor of Fisher Mall.
We ordered a snack serving of Chicken Tandori at 50Php, Vegetable Curry dish at 150php, and an order of Basmati Rice.
the chicken tandori was very soft and well-cooked. It came with a green sauce with a mix of of red. I'll have to go back and find out what it was, but it was a good complement to the chicken. The vegetable curry was spicy but not the hot kind were it forces you to take gulps of water. It contained an assortment of vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and some others I don't know the name of, but I definitely liked the dish.
The staff seems to be knowledgeable on what they serve. There are Indian-themed paintings on the walls.

I would go back and recommend this place for some Indian food.

The place has a pretty-wide assortment on the menu. Its rare to see a cafe have some beer that is not the usual SMB Pale, Light, or Red Horse.
I was only here for dessert so I ordered Flourless cake at around 100+ pesos. It was quite delicious, sporting a dark chocolate taste. The small restaurant beside it had a band playing so it was a bit noisy. The place could easily sell as a cafe, but the location isn't all that great. You have to question the owners as I think they own both places since you can order from the other restaurant.

I won't be returning as I can find some other cafe in the area.

Small place with Big Steak

It was raining hard and we decided to have dinner while waiting for the rain to stop.
We ordered the Raki's BBQ Ribs. A 'single' costs 220php. It came with 1 rice and 1 side. For the side, we got garlic spinach and mushroom.
Let's start. The ribs were really big. It had a smoky taste since it was bbq'd. The sauce easily complemented the smoky taste. For the garlic spinach and mushroom side, now I'm not a fan of vegetables, but this was delicious. You could easily taste the garlic but it did not overpower the mushrooms or the spinach. This place is a definite must-try.

The only thing I didn't like about the place was that it was really small. It could probably fit about 20 people, but almost no room to walk around.
I would probably try their other branches as the place is small, but I would recommend this to anyone who wants some tasty bbq steak.

Shawarma in Centris

SO loves this place as an inexpensive restaurant that is near my workplace. On a typical Friday night, bands sometime play at Centris Walk which adds to the charm.

This time, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Rice for 100php. It's chicken slices with cucumber, onion, and tomato pieces on top of a rice bowl. It was okay as Shawarma goes, but I prefer if it had more vegetables like cabbage shreds. SO ordered the Chicken Kebab Meal also for 100php which is almost the same except it was 2 bbq'd sticks of chicken and the rice was buttered.

The place is usually busy, but never packed. It was disappointing they didn't accept credit cards and I had to go out and find an ATM as I didn't have cash on me.

I would go back again and would recommend the place if you're looking for a cheap restaurant to dine-in in Eton Centris.

Just had dinner and wanted some dessert in another place. We stumbled at Kitchen of Cakes and Coffee and decided to try it. We ordered a slice of Black Forest Cake, which was cherry sabayon cream and chocolate chiffon drenched in rum. It was mouth-watering. I could probably finish a whole cake! My SO likes coffee not sweet, so we ordered the house special; the KoCCo brewed coffee. I don't know how to describe coffee, but this particularly had body and we both liked it. The coffee was 75php and the cake slice 80php.

The place is nice with booth seating for privacy while you enjoy your coffee. They also offer beans if you want roast at home.

I would return and would recommend the place for a light snack if you happen to be catching up with a friend.

Wanted to get a quick late-night snack so headed over to Tomas Morato and had some BonChon.
As I usually do, I got some chicken poppers for 75php. The sauce this time was spicy garlic. I loved it but it was a bit too spicy for me. My SO ordered a Fish Taco also for 75php and we got a side of Bulgogi Soup.

The place was a bit small, but it was not crowded. In fact, there were only about 4 other customers. The place can probably sit around less than 40 heads. The service was fast enough.

I would return and recommend this place if you're tired of your typical Jollibee or Mcdonald's Fastfood.

Rainy July. Decided to stop over to wait out the rain. Not a fan of fastfood so this is a low review.

Ordered the 1pc. Glazed Chicken. It is a good concept. the glaze would cater to the sweeter preference of most Filipinos. The place is just like any other fast food joint. There weren't a lot of people. Service was normal. I noticed that the restroom was regularly used by passerbys and not actual customers. Probably because it's along Tomas Morato, quite a busy area. The 1pc glazed chicken meal was 99pesos.

Hand-pulled noodles in Tomas Morato

I love lamian. Lamian is noodles made by using the dough's own weight, meaning an artist has to manually make it by hand. Artist because the making of this so-called hand-pulled noodles is nothing short of art.

I ordered a bowl of spareribs noodle soup and a platter of sharksfin dumplings. The noodles has a bit more body than what I'm used to at another restaurant, but it doesn't harm the taste of the whole bowl. The spareribs was still able to stand-out. It was softer than expected and had great texture. You could easily bite into it. The dumplings were delicious but the serving was small at only 3 pieces.

The restaurant is not dirty, but it seems as if it was converted from another restaurant that had an american theme. They could spruce up the place and improve the over-all feel and theme of the restaurant. The servers were courteous and was fast to respond to requests.

The price is average given the industry. Though I can find a cheaper alternative to this restaurant, I'd probably have to go to Chinatown in Manila.
Spareribs noodle Soup: 145pesos
Sharksfin dumplings: 75pesos

San Seh is right at the crossroads of Tomas Morato Ave. and Timog Ave. in Quezon City.
I would eat here again and would recommend this place to others.

Can't decide if you want burgers or bacon? Then head over to Big B! They serve their burgers made of half beef and half bacon!
I'm a sucker for poutine fries and their's don't disappoint. Add in the weirdly named drink, Pink potion with feelings and get ready for a weird, but albeit entertaining surprise from your server.

The concept design is cool. A bunch of witty signs telling you to say no to diet are up on the walls.
It might seem really small from the outside, but there are more seats hidden once you get in. And trust me, you will go in once you're lured by the smell of their burgers.

Prices is great considering their burgers are really good. I'll definitely visit again and would recommend the place.

Freshly made Maki Sushi

This is my favorite cheap Japanese quick-bite restaurant because it is near my office. The sushi, sashimi, maki are always freshly-made. You can watch them make it over the counter. Nothing extraordinary, it's the typical type, but this is a good thing if you're looking for consistency in your food. I usually order their cheaper meals namely the, Gyoza meal and Chicken Teppanyaki meal. The Gyoza is only 75pesos while the Chicken Teppanyaki is 149pesos. I usually eat here once a week for dinner because its cheap, delicious and filling. I love miso soup so, I sometimes order that as well. The service is also great, the server is fast and friendly. The only negative is that this is a small place and during peak hours, you would have to share a table with other customers. Not really a bad thing, but I hope they decide to expand someday because I really like this place.

French Toast and Bacon
4.0

I usually have my work lunch dates/meetings here as it is near the office. I always order the French Toast with frankfurter sausage, bacon and eggs. The toast is 9pcs of 1-inch cubes of perfectly fried bread. The bread is really soft on the inside. It is dipped in syrup before being served and the syrup used has just the right amount of sweetness to complement the taste of the bread without overpowering it. Seeing as the restaurant doubles as a bakery, you know they make good bread. The frankfurter sausage is big. The outer part is not as soft as your typical hotdog which you can just slice through cleanly. The bacon is served really crisp, like how all bacon should be. Too bad there were only about 3 slices. It is topped off with 2 eggs cooked sunny-side up.
The ambiance is lacking as it is located at the corner of supermarket.
The service is okay when it comes to serving time, but the servers themselves can improve. I've never once seen them smile.
The price is affordable for the food. It ranges from 150 to 250 per plate. They do have some steaks in red wine sauce for 500, but I haven't tried them. Cake desserts are at 100 per slice.
