We were enticed to try out The Lost Bread's Milkshakes because of its catchy presentation (Makes me want to sing the song Milkshake because of what's written on their cups! *My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard...*) and as recommended by our other friends.
The Menu. We ordered The Carnival (99 Php), Doughfee (99 Php), and Spiked Cookie (120 Php).
The Carnival: Caramel Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Vanilla Cake. This drink is very sweet, recommended for those who have a sweet tooth for such. It's very thick and there are some chunks from the bottom of the cup that tends to clog the straw. I still find this as a weird combination for milkshake, popcorn, and cotton candy.
Doughfee: Donut and Coffee. I'm always fond of coffee and this was the only drink that they had with coffee and is non-alcoholic. Thick drink, with chunks that also clog the straw. The chunks tasted like soaked corn flakes and I find it as the downside of this drink. Also sweet, my expectations for a coffee-flavored milkshake got me disappointed. Donut is average.
Spiked Cookie: Bailey's, Coffee, Chocolate Chip Cookies. The cookie part was disappointing. The menu says "cookies" but I can't even call it a cookie. The cookie served on top of the milkshake was only half! It just couldn't give justice to the price of the drink. Innovative presentation by having the Bailey's served in a plastic dropper. Tastes average.

Kapitolyo food tripping with friends and the craving for ribs and steak brought us to Mad Mark's (located at 23 East Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo, Pasig City). They are known for their rich homemade ice cream.
The place is small but it's a good thing that they now have an extended area which gave more room to customers. The crew are very accommodating and they will always face you with a smile. I had a lot of questions to the waitress upon ordering because I couldn't decide which one to choose from the menu. She was patient enough to answer all my queries. :)
The price is average and the serving is huge. They have two prices for some dishes on the menu which could be served for solo or for sharing. The taste of the food also gave justice to it.
Mad Mark's Homemade Ice Cream. Definitely rich and creamy!
Patatas Bravas. Sourcream-ish and lovin' the cheese on this.
Chicken Meltdown. Tasty and heavy on the stomach. Better for sharing.
Signature Steak, Smashed Potatoes, Tennslaw, Johnnie Double Black Sauce. Well-done steak and made just right. The sauce complements the steak well and the side dishes are enough to balance everything.
Johnnie Double Black Ribs, Grilled Corn, Bacon Potato Salad, Cream Mushroom Sauce. Delicious, high calorie, heavy dish.
Cravings satisfied. Will I recommend and go back to this place? Definitely.

Last week, my mom was craving for authentic braised pork knuckles (pata tim) and has requested me to look for a restaurant near our place where we could have it.
I came up with Mey Lin, which was located at the 4th floor of Mega Atrium, SM Megamall. The place was not crowded which gives a chill ambiance and the staff would welcome you with a good smile. They also offer you free house tea as you wait for your order.
Here are the things that we ordered:
Century Egg. My ever-favorite. Nothing extraordinary on how they presented this, but I have been having difficulty on finding these in supermarkets these days. Just had to order this. Cravings satisfied.
Pata Tim (Half Order). Mouth-watering braised pork with a taste of sweetness and epic fat! Not for people who are on a diet (but for people who are game for a good eat). Definitely what my mom has been craving for. It comes with four pieces of cuapao.
Cuapao with Crushed Peanuts and Mustard Greens. Comes free with the Pata Tim. The cuapao complements well with the pata tim which also gives it a good balance with its fatty texture. For an added taste, the peanuts and mustard greens could also be added.
Yang Chow Fried Rice. Served with generous ingredients such as green peas, eggs, chorizo, onion leeks, and shrimp.
Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. Average amount of serving, fish and ingredients were cooked well. I just find it too sweet for my taste.
Spinach with Garlic. Lightly sauteed with garlic and olive oil, this brain food also aids in detoxifying our body. A good side dish especially if you had a good amount of that braised pork that we ordered. :)
Shrimp Dumplings (Hakaw/Hakao). Also one of my favorite dumplings. Good enough.
Chicken Feet. I don't eat such but as for my mom's review, it is pricey as for the amount of serving and quality of taste.

Post-morning workout with my sister in Kapitolyo, and our fondness for crepes has led us to try out this cafe. Located in San Rafael Street, corner 1st Street, Kapitolyo, Pasig City; Crepeman Cafe, by its name is a crêperie which is also one of the famous restaurants in Kapitolyo.
Different from the usual crêperies that you can find, Crepeman Cafe serves crispy crepes and in to-go paper cones. They also offer both sweet crepes and savory crepes.
Open counter and Menu. The place is a pay-as-you-order restaurant, and you can watch your crepe while it is being made. From sweet and savory crepes, they also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from--flavored iced tea, milk tea, hot drinks, coolers, smoothies, shakes, cold drinks, frappes, and milk shakes.
Yummy Nabana Sweet Crepe, Catch Me Savory Crepe, Wintermelon Milk Tea, Bottled Water. My sister had the sweet crepe while I had the savory crepe.
The Yummy Nabana (yeah it's really spelled as N-abana. Probably from Nutella + Banana) had bananas, chocolate spread, and whipped cream. The crispiness and sweetness of the crepe tasted like of a sweet ice cream cone. It complements well with the bananas and chocolate spread--a perfect dessert.
The Catch Me had tuna, mayonnaise, cheese, lettuce, corn and pepper. Perfect for someone like me who is looking for a full meal, without the Philippine staple, rice.
There is a generous amount of tuna, mayonnaise, and corn along with the crepe which makes it a heavy meal and still considered as a healthy one (tuna-corn-lettuce combo). The only downside of having it in a crispy crepe, is that I find the crispy crepe to only complement well for the sweet or dessert crepes. For the savory crepe, it was like having the tuna-mayo combo in an ice cream cone.
The Wintermelon Milk Tea was sweet and had coffee jelly at the bottom. A little twist instead of having it with pearls. Still good, though.
Bottled Water. Too bad they don't offer service water in their restaurant.
The restaurant also offers free Wi-Fi which is a total plus for its customers. Overall, with regards to the taste, amount, and presentation, the price was worth it and justifiable.
My only concern with my Crepeman Cafe experience: they didn't issue a receipt.

Food blogging has brought us to come across Super Duck Modern Tea 超級達可時尚茶飲. This tea shop is famous from where it came from (Lukang, Taiwan) and has expanded here in Manila. Known as the Lukang King in Lukang, Taiwan, which sells about 4000 cups in a day, Super Duck has made its way to expand in the Philippines and is also available for franchise.
Super Duck caters to everyone. From kids to adults, they have a wide variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. Compared to other shops who use syrup, they are the only tea shop who use cane sugar for their drinks. (Corn syrup has high glycemic index and tends to be carcinogenic if taken daily. Cane sugar can be taken everyday and has less glycemic index). Sugar levels are offered from 25% to 150%. They also have options which are safe for pregnant women.
Their drinks can be served hot or cold. Traditional tea is best served while it is hot, but due to our country's climate, most Filipinos prefer to take cold tea. They serve 100% natural and authentic Taiwanese Tea. We were given the chance to try their plain warm tea and my favorite was the Jasmine Green Tea. If you are looking for a strong taste, the oolong tea is recommended.
They serve tea bags. Upon opening the containers, I have already been in awe of the fresh fragrance from their tea bags. I am also amazed by the leaves and petals in it! Not to mention that they are the only tea shop that I am aware of, which serves Sakura, English Black, Lavender, Golden Oolong, Mint Osmanthus, and Rose Flower tea bags. (Rose flower is my favorite). The fresh leaves are wrapped in a secure cloth which is more durable than the common tea bag that wears easily. To maintain the quality of the teas that they serve, the tea bags are restocked every day and unconsumed ones are discarded at the end of the day.
They use fresh fruits in their drinks. Aside from tea, the shop also serves a variety of fruit drinks: Perfect Juices, Fruit Tea (fruit + tea), Smoothies, and Fruity Milk Tea. Definitely healthy because they do not use fruit concentrates or syrup for their drinks.
They serve their drinks in 750 mL cups. With prices not far from other tea shops, they serve the largest amount of drinks (750cc). Their cups are also reusable and microwaveable.
You can customize your own drink. Choose whether you want it hot or cold, then simply choose your tea base, sinkers and sweetness level. With many options to choose from, you can come up with more than a hundred recipes! The staff can also help you out. Just let them know what kind of drink you want. My personal fave from the combinations: oolong milk tea with pudding.
Unique Blends. Yes, this tea shop also serves alcoholic drinks. The blends are surprisingly great!
Let's move on with their meals and quackers: Everything is vegan! :)

I always pass by Ramen Cool whenever I am in Kapitolyo since it is located at an intersection close to where I work, but I never tried it before. After a random weekday morning workout at Ace Water Spa, I decided to look for a restaurant which was just walking-distance away from Ace and I ended up trying out Ramen Cool.
Upon entering, I already liked the restaurant because of its beautiful interiors. What I also love about the interiors of Ramen Cool is that it was well lit--a plus factor for me since I love to take photos of the food I eat. The glass windows also add up to the ambiance and provide good natural lighting from the outside.
The ambiance of the place gave me an impression that the menu would be quite pricey--just like the mainstream Japanese ramen restaurants that we have today. I came in for a wonderful lunch surprise.
They offer daily lunch sets from 11am to 2pm which differ per day. Decided to try one from the menu and here are the dishes that I have tried:
Iced Coffee. Coffee, milk, sugar syrup. Served unstirred. The sugar syrup is at the bottom of the glass so it's up to you if you want it really sweet or not. I decided to just mix it a bit at the middle to mix the milk and coffee and some of the syrup. It gets really sweet if you mix it all the way.
Tamagoyaki and Kani Salad. The tamago was thinly sliced and sweet in the right amount. I'm a tamago lover, so basically two slices are not enough for me. Too bad that they do not offer this a la carte on the menu. The kani salad had the right freshness and amount of sauce, with roe that was already distributed.
Gyoza (3pcs). The gyoza was large and the contents were good and cooked well. It was not oily either.
Pork Shioramen. Shio ramen is basically salt ramen so it is not a surprise if this ramen would taste salty. However, it was just a bit saltier than expected. Solved by adding some hot water, though. The chashu was soft and thinly sliced. The noodle was cooked perfectly.
Chahan Fried Rice. Well-cooked and was seasoned just right. Not bland nor too tasty. The grains are soft and does not separate easily which makes it easy to eat with chopsticks.
Black Sesame Ice Cream. I ordered this out of curiosity. Basically, the ice cream's texture was like frozen yogurt. I did not seem to distinguish the black sesame. The bottom part of the glass had crushed grahams which adds texture and extra taste to the ice cream. It was like having tiramisu with frozen yogurt.
Everything except the black sesame ice cream was part of the daily ramen set (Thursday) that I ordered for lunch.
Decided to include the menu for the daily lunch sets since it was not posted on their Zomato profile. (See full blog post on link)
The best part of my Ramen Cool experience was that my bill was only 304 Php. 209 Php for the ramen set and 95 Php for the dessert. No service charge. I think that my orders were price-worthy and the dining experience was worth it considering the ambiance and service as well.
