Despite the Spanish-sounding name, Casa Verde is an all-out American food shop located on the second floor of UP Town Center. Stepping inside the place, it gives out the typical American casual dining vibe. Add to that the huge servings their menu offers, reminiscent of the American food lifestyle where bigger is better.
Casa Verde is the go-to if one wants a perfect place for family reunions with dynamic American food.

About a year ago, I was walking around UP Town Center and saw a bunch of people lining up in front of this particular store. I was curious as to what the fuzz was about and saw that these people were actually gleefully waiting for their turn to be ushered inside a restaurant. It puzzled me as to why people (young and old) are willing to postpone their dinner and wait for an hour or so just to get in and have their meal in there. I went back couple of times but the scenery never changed. One sweet day, only 2 or 3 groups were waiting so we decided to try it for ourselves and see what Casa Verde has to offer.
Nothing (aside from all the tables were occupied) was really special inside the restaurant; just the usual stuff.
The service was good. Once the order was taken, it only took a matter of minutes before the food was served. The staff were quick on their feet and attends to the customers at impressive speed.
We ordered 1 Single Brian's Ribs, Seafood Carbonara. and we also tried the Milky Way Shake. Both the pasta and the ribs were okay. Don't get me wrong, they are delicious but there's nothing spectacular about the 2 dishes taste-wise. The shake was a different story though. It was superb; chocolate shake at it's finest! It's not too sweet, the choco flavor was intense and the toppings were fantastic.
Milky Way aside, taste is not this restaurant's strongest point. Then what is? It's the serving my friends! The serving! I believe this is what people are lining for. In my personal opinion, the ribs can very well feed 2-3 adults and it cost a little less than 300php. Milky Way is easily the best purchase during our visit. Not only does this shake taste spectacularly delicious, it can easily serve 4-5 adults! Yes, 4-5 adults and you can check the photos if you are not convinced. The pasta's serving was just enough for one person though.
Overall, it's a good place to visit with your friends. I am not sure if I am willing to wait that long in line but it is worth revisiting if the queue is not too long.
