A Southern Louisiana-themed restaurant, Bag O’ Shrimps serves largely shellfish (in a bag). In here, you dine with a bucket, a bib and your hands. It’s a great place to pop some beer caps with family and friends.
Their specialty is the seafood by the bag, like the Shrimps, Mussels and Clams, which swim in buttery goodness! (They also have crab!) You experience these best if you dunk them in the sauce.
The bags come in four flavors: Bag O’ Momma, Lemon Pepper, Cajun and Garlic Butter. All good choices. You can also choose the spiciness level, which can range from Mild to Very Hot. While the shrimps may be a bit pricey, everything else is very affordable, spanning from PHP 150 to PHP 250.
My personal favorite are the Fried Oysters, which go really well with the dip. I initially thought they were cheese poppers. I also liked the Crab Bomb Sticks, stuffed with crabstick, jalapeno and cheese. Just the right amount of hot and spicy balanced out by the mayo dip. (Caution: Hot Cheese)
The expanded menu contains Creole pasta and Filipino breakfast options. The Clam Chowder Pasta stood out for me. I really liked the rich, creamy sauce. I think they should scrap the Filipino breakfast meals altogether because they seem to be a bit off theme. However, if they plan on keeping them, one thing they can improve on is the rice, which is too peppery and homogeneous. The taste is the same across all rice meals.
